Two pregnant women in Lungs were reported to be positive for the Corona COVID-19 virus. There was a concern that the baby could contract the Corona COVID-19 virus from his mother.
Even so, after delivery, the local medical team examined the two babies. The result, these two babies were declared Corona negative.
Quoting Reuters, this good news was delivered by Rebagliati Hospital, in Peru on Tuesday (07/04/2020). The first baby is born on March 27, while the second baby is born on March 31.
Both babies are known to have been born by cesarean section. This is based on the doctor's advice to avoid complications.
"Fortunately, there is no vertical transmission, it means there is no transmission from mother to newborn," said Carlos Albrecht, a doctor in the family unit of the Rebagliati Hospital.
While the mother is reportedly in good health despite being tested positive for Corona. Both were still receiving treatment for Coronavirus COVID-19 that they are contracting.
